Any good guides for painting osl glow without an airbrush?

I am working on some new minis and want to work on a glow effect from the plasma pistol, so many videos and guides use airbrush, unfortunately I don't have one not the reasonable space to set one up. Any references or video guides that are useful? Thank you.
