No one knows how to play Squad Deathmatch in this game

I just needed to complain about this somewhere. I've been playing Squad Deathmatch to complete all the challenges, and I've come to the conclusion that either people don't understand how the game works, or they simply don't care whether they win or not.

I run into people who just sit around in corners and wait for people to run into them. They'll finish the game with maybe 7 kills and a few deaths. Yeah, in TDM this perhaps works, because as long as you're not dying, the opposing team isn't scoring any points either. But Squad Deathmatch doesn't work that way, because while you're waiting for people to run into you, the other three squads are out there killing each other and gaining points.
