After being admitted to the Roll of Solicitors, when exactly can you start practising as a Solicitor?
I am a bit confused on the timeline here. Once you are finished the necessary in-office training period, you then apply to be added to the Roll of Solicitors. Once you are added, you then have to get a Practising Certificate, but the Law Society website states 'A Practising Certificate must be applied for on or before 1 February in each year to operate as a qualification to practise from the commencement of the year'. I will finish my training in March 2029. This is past the February 1st deadline, so does that mean I will not be able to practise in 2029 at all and will only be able to start practising as a Solicitor in 2030, or are there special allowances for those who qualify later than February in any given year? Thanks in advance
