Looking to buy a smart fortwo - advice
Hi all,
Due to parking issues living in a built up inner city terraced streets, after back and forth in my head for over a year, i’ve decided to buy a smart fortwo for parking late at night. I already own a f30 330d so i’m not bothered about speed/acceleration/etc which will be parked at family driveway 10 mins away when i’m not driving.
So my budget is £1500-£2000 but admittedly i’d like to buy as cheap as possible. Would prefer petrol as it’ll live in the city and not motorways. I am mechanically inclined and do own a lot of tools/access to garage which has led to little maintenance costs for the 330d and probably this. I’ve added this context as i’m a regular follower of this forum and know some would tell me to run from a smart car haha (any recommendations for a tiny car with an auto - toyota iq has an awful multimode and the cvt is too much).
Anyways, what should i look for when buying a smart fortwo? What are common issues (other than the engine/gearbox/electrics/everything😂)?
Advice is much appreciated. If anyone is selling one cheaply, let me know. Not fussed with mileage/age/colour/condition as long as mechanicals are good.
