SHUKUMEI

Hello everyone! πŸ‘‹ Let me introduce myself: I'm Pasquix, writing and fantasy enthusiast. For some time now, I've been working on a creative project that's particularly close to my heart, and I thought I'd share the idea here so you can hear your first impressions.

The basic idea I'm developing is a light novel called "Shukumei." I imagined it as a story that blends elements of dark fantasy, thriller, and family drama.

The premise is this: there's this man, Rowan, who's built a normal life after running away from his past. He runs a diner, has a family he loves, and tries to forget who he was. But the past doesn't let him go so easily.

When his best friend is killed by the ninja clan he escaped, Rowan realizes his family is in danger. And to protect them, he must awaken the monster he's buried inside himself and destroy the magical weapons he himself forged in the past.

The concept that intrigues and fascinates me about this story isn't so much the revenge itself, but the idea of a character who must destroy his own legacy to save what's precious. Takeshi Death's Shadow (his assassin name) was a legendary blacksmith, and the five weapons he created are now instruments of chaos in the wrong hands.

As Rowan/Takeshi hunts down his creations, he discovers that everything that's happening is part of a plan orchestrated by someone who knows him all too well. Someone who knows exactly how to hurt him, how to manipulate him. The true enemy is not a stranger, but a figure from his most intimate past.

In the story, I'd like to explore:

  • The conflict between who we were and who we want to be
  • What it means to be a creator when your creations become instruments of destruction
  • The line between protection and obsession, between genuine love and toxic possession
  • How to rebuild a life after destroying another

The tone I have in mind is that of an emotional thriller, with moments of action but above all psychological tension.

I'm still in the development phase of the idea and would love to hear your first impressions, completely honest:

  1. Does the premise intrigue you? Would you like to know more?

  2. Does the central conflict (having to destroy one's creations) seem interesting or forced?

  3. Do you have any suggestions, advice, doubts, or criticisms about any of the aspects I've described?

I haven't written full chapters yet and I'm still refining the structure, so for now I'm looking for feedback on the overall structure. Any feedback, even a brief one, would be really helpful to me in determining if I'm on the right track.

Thanks to anyone who'd like to share a thought! πŸ™

(And if you have any creative projects underway, I'm happy to reciprocate by hearing your ideas ;D)
