for even retro and some modern games, you guys thinks the 1:1 ratio is better than the 4:3 ratio?

So, i'm thinking of getting an 4:3 or a 1:1 to use on home, and tring to use it streaming moonlight and everything, into 1:1 i can go for rg cube, and 4:3 we have more options, but my question is really about the ratio, do you guys know which one gets better when used on modern games? Like, my question is, adapting 16:9, the 1:1 ratio is better than the 4:3 ratio?
