Kannur - places and restaurants recommendations

Hi. I am from Tamilnadu. We are planning a family trip to kannur next week. Kindly suggest places that we should not miss visiting, restaurant and food recommendations too. How's the weather? Should we be prepared for anything special? Thanks in advance
