Newer is not always better

One of the arguments I hear from pro-AI people is "new tech good because it new & shiny".

Newer does NOT mean BETTER. That's a logical fallacy.

Is Pokemon Scarlet & Violet a better game than Pokemon Black & White? No.

Is Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage a better show than Seinfeld? No.

Is the Sims 4 better than the Sims 2 or 3? No.

Is Minimalist design better than Baroque or Neoclassical? No.

Is Colleen Hoover better than Agatha Christie? No.

There's a reason why so many people return to classic literature time after time in hard times, thousands see classical music symphonies every year, loads of people still love to listen to rock from 60s/70s/80s, people still watch Hitchcock movies from 60+ years ago, and retro gaming is getting big.

Sometimes newer is NOT better.
