Struggling to find "legit" jobs in the EU
I'm an EU citizen looking for any (paid) opportunity in the EU. But whenever I find a job that matches my education (BA + TEFL certification) and that seems to pay an OK salary and offer decent hours, it turns out the company is terrible or straight up lying about how much they pay or how many hours you have to work.
I have been checking each listing I set aside from multiple sites I've been using to search (tefl.com, tefl.org, theteflacamedy) and whenever I look up any Google reviews, Glassdoor reviews, or Reddit discussions, the conclusion is always to stay away from these companies.
Out of about 30+ listings matching my criteria that are still active, only two seem like their information is real and that they offer a good service to students. And one is in Portugal, offering 1200 for full-time work when the cheapest studio for rent I could find the in the whole town costs 800 bucks per month. Though compared to other schools in Portugal that were offering 800 bucks for full-time work, this one definitely didn't seem too bad but not something I can afford long-term.
Other reputable schools require CELTA or DELTA certification which I sadly can't afford yet.
For those of you who found good opportunities in Europe, how did you do it? I would appreciate any recommendations.
