Here’s a clear, lore-focused overview of ARC Raiders, based on the world-building shown in official materials and the game’s premise.

🌩️ ARC Raiders – Lore Overview

The Setting

ARC Raiders takes place on a future Earth that has been devastated by a mysterious threat known as the ARC—a swarm-like, autonomous, mechanical force descending from orbit. Civilization has collapsed, and humanity survives in scattered enclaves and underground shelters.

The most prominent of these safe havens is:

🎧 Speranza

A ramshackle settlement built beneath an old orbital landing complex. Speranza serves as the base of operations for the Raiders—volunteers, conscripts, and drifters united to fight the ARC and protect what remains of Earth.

⸻

⚙️ Who Are the ARC?

The ARC is a hostile, automated machine collective that attacks Earth without communication or explanation. Their origins are unknown, but key characteristics include:

ARC Traits
	•	Orbital deployment — Enormous carriers drop ARC units from space.
	•	Machine hierarchy — ARC units range from small drones to massive war machines.
	•	Self-repair & self-replication — They constantly rebuild and evolve.
	•	Single behavior directive — Target anything human.

Their technology is beyond human capability; understanding their motives or creators is part mystery, part terror.

⸻

🛠️ The Raiders

The “Raiders” are the last line of defense. They are not a conventional army—more a patchwork resistance force made up of:
	•	Former soldiers
	•	Engineers and scavengers
	•	Exiles and wanderers
	•	Anyone willing to fight

They rely on repurposed tech, scavenged ARC components, and improvised weaponry to counter powerful mechanical foes.

Their Role

Raiders launch tactical missions into ARC-occupied zones to:
	•	Retrieve supplies
	•	Rescue survivors
	•	Destroy ARC infrastructure
	•	Push ARC forces back from Speranza

Their fights are desperate and uneven—but humanity’s survival depends on their grit.

⸻

🌍 The State of the World

Earth is a ruinous battleground. Cities are hollow shells. Farmland and wilderness are dotted with fallen ARC machines and shattered satellites.

Survivors cluster around remaining pockets of technology and energy—any place shielded from orbital scans has value.

Humanity is technically outmatched, but not spiritually defeated.

🔮 Themes

ARC Raiders emphasizes:
	•	Human ingenuity vs. overwhelming force
	•	Scrap-punk survival (turning wreckage into tools)
	•	Mystery of artificial intelligence gone rogue
