Anyone experiencing crackling/static with aptX Adaptive 24bit/96kHz on Windows? (Sennheiser HDB 630)
Hi everyone, I’m using a Sennheiser HDB 630 with a USB Bluetooth dongle on Windows, mainly with aptX Adaptive.
I noticed that when I enable Hi-Res mode (24bit/96kHz), I sometimes get: • slight crackling / static • random “popping” sounds • or a kind of harsh, grainy texture on vocals
This usually happens: • in an office or condo environment (lots of Wi-Fi / Bluetooth devices), • right after reconnecting Bluetooth.
If I switch to a lower mode (24bit/48kHz, aptX Classic, or even SBC), the problem immediately disappears. Using wired (USB-C or 3.5mm) also has zero issues.
So I’m pretty sure it’s related to: • Bluetooth bandwidth limitations, • aptX Adaptive behavior at high sample rates, • or Windows Bluetooth stack stability at 24/96.
I just want to ask: • Has anyone else experienced similar issues with aptX Adaptive at 24/96 on Windows, especially with the Sennheiser HDB 630? • Is this a known real-world limitation of Bluetooth? • Do you personally stick to 24/48 or lower modes for better stability?
Thanks a lot in advance!
