Sidewalk snow shoveling

Just curious, do people actually get fined or notices from the city for not shoveling their portion of the sidewalk in neighborhoods? To be clear, I’m not asking because I want to avoid shoveling my portion of the sidewalk nor will I ever tattle on someone for not doing theirs, just genuinely curious as I notice about half of my neighborhood doesn’t, and as a nearly everyday runner, gets a tad bit annoying
