Curious about informal mentoring culture at Warwick — any experiences?

Hey everyone! I’m working with Apexia Prep, a student-focused initiative that tries to better support incoming Indian students by helping them understand what life at Warwick is actually like — academics, coursework pace, campus culture, budgeting, housing, societies, etc.

We’re currently researching how informal student-to-student mentoring typically works at Warwick and whether seniors ever guide incoming students casually — even if it’s just answering questions, sharing personal experiences, or helping them set expectations.

For context, students who choose to mentor through our initiative are generally appreciated and compensated for their time, but that part isn’t the focus here — I’m mainly trying to learn what kind of informal peer support already exists at Warwick and how students usually handle it.

If anyone has ever supported incoming students, mentored casually, or just wants to share how that usually works here, I’d love to hear your perspective. Really appreciate it 😊
