Countermeasure flares in intake?
I just saw a video earlier on another sub of an F-22 initiating a cobra maneuver and popping flares. The angle filmed made it look like the flares were coming right back into the path of flight at high AoA.
It got me thinking, could flares do any major damage if sucked back into the intake? I'm not sure if there's any confirmed reports of an incident like this, but surely this theoretically could do some damage to the compressor or other down stream components if it even makes it that far?
Is that even a consideration for proximity flying when there are flares launched?
