3 Weeks Post FNA

Hello,

I was diagnosed with Hashimotos and then a routine ultrasound found a 1 cm nodule on my Ithmus. I had a FNA on the 20th of November. They determined my nodule was Bethesda Class 3 (atypia of undetermined significance).

The report said some of my follicular cells displayed enlarged oval or irregular nuclei with occasional nuclear grooves, clearances and overlapping but no nuclear inclusions were seen.

My understanding is that Hashimotos can cause these specific findings and it’s a good sign inclusions were not seen. My cells were sent for additional DNA testing with Thyroseq.

I’m almost 3 weeks post FNA and haven’t heard back. Wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and what the outcome was and if you also had to wait 3 ish weeks for results from thyroseq.
