Need honest advice — should I buy a new iPhone or be smart and save the money

:discuss: Discussion

Hey everyone, I’m in a dilemma and need some outside perspective.

I’m about to get some money soon. The first thing that popped in my head was: should I finally buy a new phone? Do I need a phone? Honestly, no. My current one works fine for the basics — YouTube, calls, messaging. But let’s be real… getting a new iPhone would be cool as hell.

Option A: Buy the iPhone, the money disappears in one shot, but I get something I’ll use every day (even if I don’t exactly “need” it).

Option B: Skip the phone. Maybe buy some clothes, an AJ pair, a watch, some supplements (I’m a gym addict), and keep the rest saved. As a college student who depends on my parents, having a chunk of money saved would feel good, and I won’t have to ask them for small stuff.

The problem? I’m a big-time impulsive shopper. I know that if I go with Option B, within a few days I might still end up spending the money on random things. But at least I’ll have more control and won’t blow it all at once.

At the same time, I don’t want to regret NOT buying the iPhone — especially because I know that either I buy it now… or I’ll only be able to buy it 8–10 months later.

Please don’t suggest stocks/SIPs/investments, I’m not considering that right now.

So what would you do in my place? Buy the iPhone and enjoy it? Or play it safe and keep the money for general use and gym stuff?
