Schengen Visa Application while holding a UK Student Visa

Question

Hi!

I’m from the Philippines, and will be getting a UK Student Visa soon. It will be valid for 2 years as my program will be 2 years long. I plan to visit Europe frequently not just for leisure but also for some networking events.

How should I go about with applying for my Schengen visa? A) Apply for multi-year Schengen visa while in the Philippines AFTER I get my UK Student Visa

  • I don’t know if I’ll get granted a multi-year tourist Schengen visa since my last one was issued in 2023. Haven’t been to Europe since. I know some people are successful but it seems like a coin toss.

B) Apply for Schengen visa while in the UK each time I need it

  • a bit scared to do this since I won’t have my passport with me while it’s surrendered

Any other international students who have done this? Are there any other options?

I don’t think I’ll get rejected in general since I’ve been issued 3 Schengen visas in the past (2023, 2017, 2011) and my travel history is good but I want to know what the best/most efficient option is. My ideal scenario is Scenario A, and I’m willing to apply for it through any embassy (e.g. French, Italian, etc) and just plan a trip to whichever country that would be first to justify the application.

Any and all advice would be helpful.

Thank you!
