RANT
Had my first practical driving test in May 2022 and still haven’t managed to pass.
I failed my first 2 tests, one for going 20mph in a 30 zone and the second for positioning in the middle of a one way street while waiting to emerge at a junction, rather than all the way over to the right. Clearly mistakes so my fault, but aside from the one major in both tests I had less than 3 minors both times so very frustrating and silly mistakes to make.
My 3rd test was cancelled 20 mins before it was due to start due to the examiner not being available, and they weren’t able to give me another test at the same test centre for 10 weeks. That was due to be my 4th test which was supposed to be this morning, but as I am getting ready to leave I go to check for my provisional licence and realise it’s missing. After searching everywhere I’ve come to the conclusion I must’ve lost it some time during the last couple of days, although I have no idea how. So needless to say, I wasn’t able to take the test today and had to cancel it.
Yes, it’s my fault I failed the 2 tests and yes it’s my fault I lost my ID, I’m not trying to pass the blame to anyone else. I just feel SO disheartened and discouraged as this process has been going on for so long. I live in London and trying to get driving tests is so difficult, I have spent so much time (and money) on learning to drive and it’s just feels like an endless cycle of hell. Just needed to vent some frustration to some other people who might understand the struggle.
