What do you do if you accidentally follow an ex on Instagram?

She wasn’t really an ex. We just dated for a few months and hooked up. More of a fling. It ended with me just saying I’m too busy whenever she asked to hang out and then she just stopped asking. Haven’t talked to her for years.

Until one day a random account popped up on Instagram of a woman. I didn’t really look at it and just requested follow.

Then later account accepted and it followed me back. And then realized it’s my ex fling. Seems she changed her username.

I don’t want to reconnect with her. What should I do? Should I just unfollow and remove her as my follower? Or message her and tell her how I accidentally followed her and don’t want to reconnect?
