“Most Ukrainians want peace”? Yes. “Most support Trump’s deal”? No.

Donald Trump keeps telling Western audiences that “most Ukrainians” support his idea of a peace deal with Russia. But fresh polling data from Ukraine shows the exact opposite.

According to a new nationwide survey, 51.4% of Ukrainians are ready to protest if the government agrees to unacceptable concessions to Russia during hypothetical negotiations. Only 44.3% say they wouldn’t protest, and 4.4% are unsure.

What do people call “unacceptable”?

Only 5.1% are ready to accept even a temporary refusal to reclaim occupied territories.

Just 2% support legal recognition of occupied territories as Russian, while 76.6% are categorically against.

77.9% say cutting the size of the army is absolutely unacceptable.

73% reject giving Russian the status of a second state language.

Ukrainians are exhausted and want the war to end – but not at the price of surrender, amputated borders and a dismantled army. When politicians abroad say “Ukrainians want this peace,” they are not quoting Ukrainians. They are using them.
