Audio is always clipping in OBS
Hello guys,
I'm having some difficulties setting up my RØDECaster Duo with the latest firmware. I have the RØDECaster Duo connected to my PC through USB-C1, paired with a Shure SM7B. The SM7B gain is set to 57 dB, and in the Windows Playback tab RODECaster Duo Main Stereo is selected. In the Recording tab, Microphone (RODECaster Duo Main Stereo) is also selected. These same settings are used in OBS.
When I speak, the audio levels for my mic in OBS clip into the red. After searching on Google, I learned that I needed to lower the microphone level in the Windows 11 settings. It’s currently set to 70. After changing it, the audio barely stops clipping.
But when I export my video (gameplay audio and voice commentary exported separately), my voice sounds much quieter than it does while recording (I monitor myself while speaking — that’s my preferred way of recording). Did I configure something wrong in Windows? Or should I switch the microphone input from Main Stereo Mic to Chat Mic?
Can someone help me sort this out? Thanks!
