Avoiding small eyes effect with higher prescription?

My prescription is at -5.50 and -6.00 (likely gone up a bit as its been a year since my last exam)

I mostly wear contacts because my last pair of glasses gave me that small eye look.

I have heard about high index frames and I'm curious to hear if there is any recommendations for frames that can help? I want to save some money by not wearing contacts
