Anxiety Vs Intuition

Coming down from a panic attack and no one I know is awake right now.

I’m trying to figure out if I’m being overly paranoid about my job security right now or if I’m about to be fired. For context, in early 2023 I was terminated from my dream job after a new supervisor was brought in. She made the last six months of my employment there unbearable and I ended up with an anxiety disorder. I spent a couple of months on unemployment before taking the first real position that was offered to me. I didn’t trust my intuition then and I didn’t take the thought that I could be fired seriously.

After spending a couple of months on unemployment I took the first real position that was offered to me in a completely different field. I’ve been fairly unhappy for the last few months and have been looking for a new job more closely related to my previous field but so far I’ve just had one interview.

Admittedly, my unhappiness in my role led to a drop in my performance and I received essentially a write up followed almost immediately by a negative performance review. I’ve made efforts to improve my job performance but I’m still looking for a path out. Tonight I had the thought that my supervisor might be amping up to fire me and I’ve not been able to shake it.

I haven’t had a panic attack, at least not one as intense as that, since I was in my prior role from 2023 so I’m just trying to process this all at the moment. Is this intuition or just my anxiety rising my seasonal depression wave and making my brain play cruel tricks on me.

How do you tell the difference between anxiety vs. intuition?
