Trying to figure out how to even… use this place?

New account here. I’m an adult with a job, a family, and a life, and somehow Reddit has me jumping through hoops. 6 minute delay to respond a couple discussions, reply to a few comments, and apparently I need Reddit’s royal permission to do… anything. Rate limits, karma requirements, “slow down” warnings. I get preventing bots, but do that with verification not silencing voices.

Is there an actual way to get past this or do I just wait for the system to decide I’m a “real person”?

Any straightforward advice is appreciated.
