High protein breakfasts for non-morning people?
I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and have been realizing it's actually pretty important for me to eat breakfast with my meds, lol. I've heard high protein (and some healthy fats) are the best to help stimulants work properly and for longer, so I want to try incorporating some healthy breakfasts into my routine.
My issue is I don't normally eat breakfast. I usually get hungry like 3 hours after waking up. It's been hard to find things to eat in the morning that have enough protein but don't feel too heavy. I'm also extra picky about food if it's too early in the morning. Like, I normally love overnight oats but can't do them 30 mins after waking up, suddenly they just seem too slimy and weird. Maybe it's an issue that will get better with time though, that I'll eventually be able to just eat anything for breakfast.
So for anyone who has had the same issue, what's a fairly light but high protein breakfast you like, even when you don't feel like eating? Or feel free to just suggest any high protein breakfast and it might work for me because everyone is different haha. Preferably minimal cooking or something I can prep the day before! :)
So far the only things I've come up with are apple slices and peanut butter (admittedly not much protein but better than nothing...?) and using protein powder just as drinks or in baking, though I've yet to find a brand I really like. Had tofu scramble and avocado for one breakfast when I was more in a savory mood.
