Is PS5 still worth it if you are not subscribed to PS plus hence gaming alone?

Hello guys. I am wondering if it's still worth it to buy a PS5 for someone who likes online multiplayer games? I heard that you need to buy PS Plus subscription before I can play with other players online.

Thank you.
