I met a hijda in the metro yesterday.
I was travelling in the ladies compartment when a transwoman entered the same compartment. She was on a call and standing in the corner minding her own business. I could sense that other women were vary of her. Soon, the seat next to me became vacant so she came and sat next to me. I saw she had pretty ear piercings and since I love piercings too (I have 4 on each ear), I complimented hers. And we had a very sweet and normal conversation with her about them. She was telling me where she got hers and how they hurt. She even told me she could take me to the place where she got hers pierced. She seemed like a nice person.
This was my first time interacting with a hijda in real life. I have only seem them begging on roads and harassing men in public. This was such a different interaction and honestly, it was so wholesome. Throughout the whole interaction I was aware of other women looking at me because I was speaking to her. The aunties were staring so hard.
Well, I just wanted to share this here because they usually have such a bad image in society. I guess, some of them are sweet people!
