Should Telstra be pushing 5G Home Internet over NBN Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)?
I’ve been noticing how hard Telstra is pushing their 5G home internet lately, and I’m trying to figure out if it’s actually the smarter choice or just good marketing. On paper it looks cheaper than a lot of NBN plans, especially once you get past the 100 Mbps mark, but it’s still wireless so you’re dealing with congestion and signal changes. Meanwhile FTTP on the NBN is boring but rock solid, and you can go way higher in speed if you want to. I’m just trying to work out if Telstra is genuinely backing 5G as the future or if they’re mainly grabbing people who are fed up with the NBN. For a normal household, what’s actually the better long-term option right now?
