Device insurance and international import phones

I have a question on how device insurance works for phones that were imported from other countries (not officially sold in the U.S.).

About two years ago, I purchased my current phone, a Sony Xperia 10 V, which is not officially sold in the US. I purchased the phone from Amazon and bought a 2-year protection plan to go with it, which was sold alongside the device and provided by Asurion. I know it's harder to get replacement parts and near-impossible to get manufacturer warranty coverage for international devices, and that was part of my decision to buy. I looked at the documents before deciding to add it on, and it made no mention of the phone's country of origin, so I decided to buy it. However, when I go to the Asurion website to file a claim, it doesn't show that phone as an available option (it only shows phones with official U.S. releases), so it looks like I have to call them to make a claim.

That plan expires in one month, and I thankfully haven't had to make use of it. I'm considering purchasing US Mobile Protect after it expires to make sure I'm covered after it expires. Is the US Mobile Protect plan valid for international devices? How does one go about getting damage coverage for such devices from the plan? Also, the service contract from Akko says the following:

For any of Your Protected Equipment that already has an active warranty, any claims are required to be submitted first through your existing/included warranty.

If I reach out to the manufacturer and they respond that their warranty isn't valid outside of the intended country of sale, does this qualify as fulfilling this clause?
