ATIAH for leaving a date?
Hey all, this is going to be kind of short but I need to get this off my chest.
I got out of a relationship awhile back and decided to start using dating apps. I met a guy and went on a few dates, we really clicked. Same interests and hobbies and overall.. we just really got on well.
So, I decided I was comfortable going to his house to hang out. it’s about 20 minutes from my house, a bit secluded but there were zero red flags. Everything started out great and we played some video games, he was having a few beers (I abstained because I had to drive home) and it was honestly one of the best times I’d had in years.
We decided to go sit on the porch so I could have a smoke and our conversation continued until out of the blue.. I just got the worst feeling.
For a little background I was raised on a farm, being outside, relatively secluded and it being dark is nothing new to me. I’ve never been afraid of anything like that before
But I got the most gut wrenching feeling, terror like nothing I’ve ever felt before. something felt so wrong and so off that I felt myself about to cry. I’ve never had anxiety before, never had a panic attack but I was so beyond terrified I couldn’t think clearly.
i decided I needed to leave. I grabbed my purse, went to my car, said goodbye and just left.
he texted me only once to say it was a crappy thing to do, that I’m an asshole and I overreacted to basically nothing but I have truly never felt terror like that in my life. I’ve told a few friends and family members about it and they’re kind of split on whether I was an asshole /whether or not I overreacted.
I don’t know why I got that feeling but I do feel bad for just leaving and he hasn’t spoken to me since. I guess I just need some outside perspective.
