Anxiety been hitting harder lately. Any TCM, calming activities, or counseling recommendations in Richmond?

Ask Richmond

I have always dealt with a bit of anxiety, but lately it has been getting stronger than usual. I still find a lot of joy eating my way around Richmond, but I have been feeling down about other parts of my life. Things like feeling behind my peers in career or finances, and that kind of sets off the anxiety. It used to be pretty mild, but now I have been waking up in the middle of the night with anxious feelings for no real reason.

I am wondering if anyone has recommendations for good TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) places in Richmond. I do not know much about TCM, but I would like to try something brewed to help me relax. If the TCM doctor speaks English, that would help a lot, but if not I can bring a Chinese friend to help translate.

Also, if you or anyone you know has had good experiences with counselors who help with anxiety in Richmond, I would really appreciate some suggestions. Or even places that offer activities or programs that support people dealing with anxiety. I am not big on pharmaceutical meds. I would rather try a mix of counseling, activities, and maybe some TCM.

I am not sure if what I am feeling is just anxiety or if a bit of depression is starting too, but I want to get ahead of it. Any advice would help.

Pineapple buns at Lido and Happy Date brighten up my days when I am feeling particularly down, so again, thank you to everyone who chimed in on my foodie posts back then.
