File a FDC or wait for more documentation
I have less than 2 months left on AD. Being med boarded but needed it to be expedited so I didn’t do VA claims and only got medically retired for my DQ condition. I have a couple conditions (PTSD and OSA) that are super well documented that I know will get rated appropriately. My question is: should I file a FDC now and get the process rolling or should I wait to get more documentation for my other conditions and submit once I separate? I have 4-5 conditions that I want to claim in addition to the other two that I’ve gotten seen for 2-3 times by my PCM but not a specialist.
Is it sufficient to have multiple encounters in my military medical record to submit the claim, without a specialist? For example, I have been prescribed headache medication and GERD medication by my PCM. In my records it says discharge diagnosis = headaches (unspecified) and GERD. I would love to submit my claims now to get ahead of things but don’t want to waste time.
