Lithuania more Nordic than Estonia
Eurostat collected data in 2015 and 2022 on how frequently people living in the EU meet with their family or friends. The results barely changed: in both years, most of Northern European countries had the fewest daily meet-ups. The lowest-ranking countries are:
π©π° Denmark β 2.5% (of population meets up with somebody every day) π±πΉ Lithuania β 3% π±π» Latvia β 3.1% πͺπͺ Estonia β 3.3% πΈπͺ Sweden β 3.6%
and π³π± The Netherlands close behind at 5.1%.
Meanwhile, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Croatia and Greece had the most people who meet with friends and family every day. These findings underline clear regional differences in social interaction patterns across the EU.
