I wrote this when I was 8 years old and it was published in our school magazine/journal. Found it sometime back when I was clearing out some stuff. The only tweak/correction I've done is that i capitalized Fate in the last line.
A little plant popped its head above the ground
Somewhere near a large mound.
And it wondered and it dreamt
Of what living a life really meant.
Thought of how it would give shade
To little boys who laughed and played.
But to do this indeed it would have many years to wait
For such indeed was the wish of Fate.
