Goalkeeper Gear

I’m a field hockey goalie and I do not have my own equipment. I might not be able to purchase my own anytime soon, and I’m playing with a team for the remainder of the indoor season. The chest protector from the gear I was given is very flimsy and uncomfortable and I feel it limits my mobility. I want to get something to replace it but I don’t want to spend $300 on an actual field hockey one. Is there any alternatives? Like something meant for ice hockey maybe? And if anyone knows of any second hand or generally cheaper equipment in Canada, please let me know
