Never been to Bali. Looking for recommendations

As per the title! Have a 10 day window in January and thinking to take the family to Bali. Was initially looking at Fiji but any decent accommodation isn’t available. Noumea or Vanuatu have nothing luxury also so that leaves Bali being of similar distance flight wise. It’s never been on the radar but would like a quick getaway before the Feb madness starts!

Thoughts on hotels with private pools verses villas? Nanny services? Which area to stay in? Accommodation you’ve loved also close to restaurants or have them on site?
