Recorder is OP

The essence of being friendly in this game is broadcasting your location by sound in a way that a committed PvPer never would.

I will literally call out my location like “Raider breaching, I’m one floor down and I’m looking for pillows” or “Hi raider in the tower, I’m approaching from the North, do you know where this quest location is?”

PvPers are looking for good loot and the thrill of hunting people down. Killing someone who’s goofing off with the recorder instead of engaging in their cat-and-mouse game is less fun.

Of course this isn’t going to stop some players from shooting on sight. You still need to trust your instincts and know when to fight and when to run. But I’ve found that a lot of PvP in this game happens between people who aren’t necessarily trying to PvP but are scared of losing their loot. If you have a pure heart and a recorder you can run into a fire fight and call a truce between reasonable parties that are just trying to extract.
