Hey hey! I’m 40 and getting a hysterectomy next year (I had surgery earlier this year for fibroids and endometriosis and had my tubes removed but it hasn’t helped). I’m single and live on my own, and my family are interstate. My mum is going to come and stay with me for the first week post surgery. After that I’ll be on my own except for some friends who will drop by every few days for whatever I need help with. Speaking from personal experience, is that enough or am I kinda screwed not having someone stay with me for longer? I don’t really have that option. Will I be able to take my dog a 10 minute slow walk a day after  the first week? She’s small and a bit of a homebody so that’s all she really needs in between friends taking her for longer. Will I be able to lift light items from the supermarket (I have a trolley so won’t need to carry any bags)? Will I be able to do any cleaning or should I leave that to my friends? Did you have a full month off work (for people who work office jobs like me)? 

I’ve read a lot of your stories and they all seem so different so it’s hard to tell! I’m in Australia and I know surgeries are performed differently in different countries so if anyone has had it done here that would be extra helpful to know! I’m expecting the worst so hopefully it can only be better than expected ;)
