Small(not really) rant

Please feel free to add your own take in the comments, whether you agree or disagree with this. I am so saddened by the state of RDO. I played the beta with a couple friends, and somehow, the game had WAY more of a fun factor when all there was to do were shitty stranger missions and the online story. There was nothing to spend gold on other than clothes and guns. Not to mention gold was just handed out like hot cakes.

As time went on, Rockstar added some seriously fun content. The bounty hunting DLC was awesome, and with the exception of the edgy hot topic style role outfits, it included some cool items and fun missions. I also enjoyed the naturalist expansion. However, the fact that the last major update to the game added the blood money missions (the DUMBEST system ever btw), goes to show the direction the fame was headed. They did that while we were BEGGING for train robberies, and yeah they added a train robbery in Blood Money, but it was in the form of a heist and paywalled behind an elusive in-game currency—which can be purchased for another elusive in-game currency... nice economy.

It's a testament to Rockstar's refusal to listen to their community. Nowadays, the game is in serious need of polishing. Between the bugs and shitty level design in missions, RDO feels like a shadow of its former self. They nerfed the best ways to get gold bars to punish players for grinding by making the grind harder. They ignored players reporting MAJOR game breaking bugs and instead patched gold bar glitches. I love Rockstar games and I have always been a fan of their work, but I have no faith in their ability to create engaging online content. I am SO excited for Grand Theft Auto 6, but I am not anticipating its online features at all.

Rockstar has proven themselves as a game designer when it comes to world building and story telling, as they've created some of the best games that will go down in gaming history, but they SUCK at making any sort of online multiplayer without it being a toxic fucking grind fest filled to the brim with online transactions. If you're gonna facilitate gaming addiction, do it in the form of a RAD story that I never wanna stop playing, not with a bunch of repeat fetch quests that pay a dime and nickel each.

I dunno, I was just doing a bounty and encountered so many bugs in the span of a few minutes, it really brought all this to mind.
