Light Years didn’t do it for me, but Nas’ legacy is untouchable

I gave Light Years a few honest spins, and while I respect the intent, it just didn’t connect with me the way I hoped it would.

For me, the biggest issue was the production. Preemo is obviously a legend, and his catalog speaks for itself, but some of the beats here felt a little uninspired compared to what I expect from a Nas x Premier pairing. In particular, the “NY State of Mind” beat flip didn’t hit for me it sounded like something from Fruity Loops or sum.

As a Nas fan this isn’t a hate post at all. Nas is still, is still the greatest to ever do it. One project is not the end all be all.
