My friends and I (a small group of four adults) are planning a trip through Uzbekistan, and we’re looking for recommendations.

We’d love to travel with a reliable and affordable local travel agency that can arrange a good guide (ideally someone knowledgeable, friendly, and English-speaking) to show us around the main cities and sights. Has anyone here done a similar trip with an agency that they’d recommend? If so, which company did you use, and what was your experience like (cost, guide quality, logistics)?

Alternatively, we’re wondering if it might be better to plan and travel independently — booking our own trains/buses/hotels and exploring with local guides only where needed. If you’ve done Uzbekistan on your own, how did it compare in terms of cost, ease, and overall experience?
