Is Model 5.2 disconnected from the other models?

I just the chat gpt model 5.2 yesterday and honestly it's been bad in a weird way? Every thread that I had previously before this upgrade is completely disconnected, it seems like. Chat GPT can't seem to remember the prompt or conversation right above, and it starts to give a bunch of solutions and even implements the solutions.

I have a small meal plan I was working on for the week, and I asked it to give me the cooking flow. It started introducing random recipes we didn't agree on prior, and removing ingredients or adding it here and there. I tried to say "hey no we didnt agree on this recipe, this is what we agreed on, also why is there chicken breast in this recipe 1 and 2 and not chicken mince in recipe 2 and chicken breast in recipe 1" and it starts to go "oh sorry okay yeah going forward we will never use chicken breast ever again, and then it just... removes the chicken breast from the meal plan?? like wtf D:

I don't understand the overrcorrection but I also like: am I hallucinating or does 5.2 just seem like it's not even connected to the older models??

I've never had this type of issue before, and I have been a quiet lurker here and pretty loyal to chatgpt because I have enjoyed the collab mode the most with ChatGPT. But even now I'm considering something else (though not gemini as im not a huge google fan) because like, I feel stressed trying to keep up with the in-thread hallucinations and overcorrection and solution fixing that I didnt even ask for.

IDK, just wondering if anyone else is experiencing it. I don't see ChatGPT as a friend or anything, but I find Claude more interesting for technical implementation and I haven't loved Gemini but if chatgpt continues this way, then I feel maybe it's best to look elsewhere. :S
