Irresponsiblity by VAO

TLDR: gave birth certificate for correction in initial and address, downloaded the birth certificate to find new mistakes.

My daughter was born in August. We received her birth certificate in late August and my husband went to the respective panchayat to add her name. In the certificate, the details are both in tamil and english, so initially there were a few spelling mistakes in our address. Here genuinely it was our mistake for not correcting them when my husband went for giving the name and he wrote the initial in english for the name in tamil as well.

When I came back to my place, I decided to go and get it corrected (my husband works abroad). So, in November I went with all the corrections made and gave it to the VAO, explaining that it is essential the address matches with our address proofs so it is easier for the passport, visa and other official documents. She agreed and said I would get it in 5 days to a weeks time. I checked the website regularly and no update was made. I waited 2 whole weeks and then cyclone ditwa happened, I couldn't go. The place is nearly 45 minutes away from my home and when I go, I have to take my baby with me as well because I can't leave her with my mother for the sake distance and how long it might take. I went last week to check whether the update was made or not. The VAO's assistant took the birth certificate with correction made and gave it to the VAO. The lady shouted for so many corrections (name and address). I told her I had come couple of weeks before and explained the reason and I haven't received the updated birth certificate. She told me check then and there, so I took out my mobile. She shouted at me that I can't check it on my phone, I told her I did check on my laptop earlier and phone, she continued to be rude saying, adhu ellam parka mudyadhu nu solluren la, po poi e-sevai la paru po. I was irritated and still, went to the e-sevai that was nearly 3 km away from the VAO office, waited there in a long queue and only to find out that the birth certificate wasn't updated. I came back and told her the same. Here is the highlight, madam VAO took out her phone and made the changes only then. Mobile la check panna mudyadhu but mobile la update pannalam. It took her only a few minutes to do it anyway. She showed me the phone. With the same spelling mistakes in the address and I asked for the correction and she said, it's in the system we cannot do anything about it.

Today I checked for the updated birth certificate on my laptop, downloaded the updated birth certificate to find new mistakes. House number repeated twice and the address doesn't match at all with the address proof I mentioned.

Why are these govt. employees so careless? Idhula rude eh pesuradhu, alaiya viduradhu.. I have to go again to make the corrections done. Really fed up.
