I made a tofu dish that's so bad that I had to eat it all by myself instead of sharing it with my cousins
I initially made a tofu dish that I've been doing for long which is called "Tokwa't Mayonnaise" which is basically a tofu with mayonnaise, I did the initial steps:
- Deep fry tofu until golden brown
- Saute Onions
- Add chili
- Add the golden browned tofu
- Add mayonnaise mixed with oyster sauce
- Serve
It should've been good, but the problem was the tofu didn't go golden brown as I expected, it just turned pale brown, before I knew it the tofu already felt like a brick, so I had to do something immediately, I searched on google how to make the tofu softer, I found a site saying I needed to simmer, but as a bum newbie I am I didn't think about how it would remove the mayonnaise flavor, after I took it off the simmer it became softer but after refrying and adding mayonnaise it tasted I'm eating a sock with mayonnaise, I panicked and added egg and oyster sauce hoping it would somehow fix the taste. It didn't, it tasted worse than ever, I don't have anything else to add in it, I didn't know what to do so ultimately I told my cousin the food taste so bad that I had to eat it by myself without sharing.
