Online friends are still friends and can be even better than IRL
Okay so, title, and here's why I think that.
Especially as I find autistic communities such as the ones on Reddit, it just makes it so much easier to form connections with people you actually want to form connections with. Because it seems that being online behind the shroud of anonymity allows people to be much more open and honest, and I like when people are like that. It gives me a quicker window to see that I relate to someone's viewpoints, likes, etc.
Instead of having to deal with sifting through bad people (of course generally neurotypicals) IRL to find the people that I actually vibe with. If it's harder to make friends IRL and you find that you are able to form genuine connections online, why does that make people feel like they are still allowed to invalidate online friendships because "you haven't met them IRL."
