Increase supply advice

Troubleshooting/Tips

I’m just coming through a bout of mastitis to one boob and noticed my supply may be reduced in both, maybe due to being unwell. I’m EBF my LO and have been responsively feeding when he wants food. The days seem to be ok and he seems content after feeds however when it comes to cluster feeding (for hours) in the evening - my boobs get super soft and he gets really frustrated at both breasts, which I can only assume is related to my supply. I keep swapping back and forth from one side to the other, when needed, but it’s exhausting. I even resorted to giving him a bottle of EBM last night (which I haven’t done before) as I was so overstimulated, emotional and sore following a really significant cluster feeding period.

I noticed in my mastitis boob the milk is much lighter in colour than the other side and since the mastitis I’m no longer leaking from my breasts when I’m not feeding. I’m 4 weeks PP. would this indicate low supply? Could it be because I’m not well hydrated?

I’m a FTM and it’s been a tough few weeks with baby blues and now the mastitis so haven’t been looking after myself well enough.

What would everyone’s recommendations be? Should I just continue to BF on demand or should I try pumping at all to increase supply?
