Isn't that a bit too much?
Something that's intrigued me since episode 7 is Abel, who's been spying on the others for a long time. But why?
Why would Caine do that for an adventure?
Abel could have just lied to the others, saying he'd been observing them for a while. It wouldn't have changed anything. Aside from Pomni, who spotted him, I don't think anyone else has ever seen him. Pomni doesn't even mention (or if she did, it was off-screen) that she actually saw him once. Why would Caine have planned an adventure by having an NPC spy on them for, like, weeks or months, when it ultimately serves no purpose?
It's interesting for us viewers because we could see Abel, hidden or not, in the episodes, but not the circus members. So why is that?
I think this division within the fandom will stem from whether we believe what Abel said (or at least part of it) is true, or not.
And this whole spying thing serves no purpose in the adventure. It only serves to tell US that Abel actually did this during the episodes.
What if the Abel Caine showed us at the end wasn't the real one? After all, he could have found the real Abel in the circus, locked him up somewhere, and created an NPC clone so the others would think it was all just a game.
Or perhaps Caine noticed Abel's presence early on and let him talk and put his plan into action, just to better discourage the others at the end by making them believe it was yet another adventure.
Kinger doesn't seem to know who Abel is, but if Abel is the name he chose, it's normal that he doesn't know who he is. And if Caine had noticed Abel's presence with the others, he could very well have given him that name himself, since we know he can influence minds.
I wonder what all this meant.
