I hate BSD more than anything.

Please keep an open mind while reading this. The last time I tried to post something explaining why BSD is not okay, I got an insane amount of death threats and people mocking me. Please don't do that to me again. My mental health genuinely can't take any more.

Okay, so, I hate BSD, a lot. I want to understand why you guys are okay with this.

The concept is good, and the story makes sense. The one thing I have an issue with is the fact that they used real people as characters. It feels dehumanizing and extremely disrespectful. They're taking their struggles and hates, and making jokes out of them. I really, really hate that. For example, ​Dazai being obsessed with suicide and being a "suicide enthusiast." Isn't that just.. wrong? Not in the sense that people shouldn't be that way, but in the sense that that's not who Dazai was in real life. He struggled a lot with suicidal thoughts. He didn't make them into a show or a thing to be happy about. I really dislike the jokes about suicide with Dazai. It feels really gross considering how Dazais life turned out and that his death itself was suicide. ​

Another example is Akutagawas illness. As far as I've seen, it's a joke in the show, and even the voice actors make fun of it. But that was a real thing that Akutagawa struggled with. And making Dazai abusive and abuse Akutagawa? I feel like the creators are forgetting that these are real people, not OCs.

Mori, too.​ I've heard that this is a mistranslation, but, making him a pedophile, when he was asexual in real life is terrible. Being asexual in that time would be awful. It's so sad to think that lots of people are going to think of the word "pedophile" when they hear his name now.

And the siblings, at the beginning of the show. Tanizaki and the other person, I forget. Why is that a thing? I've seen people say "they aren't real siblings", but it's still gross. Please don't say "it's dark topics BSD just handles dark topics", because no, BSD isn't showing what's dark about incest. They just have it in the show, for no reason at all. It doesn't add to the plot, it doesn't show bad sides, it's just there. Isn't this basically the same thing that happened with oshi no ko? I don't understand why people hated that, but this is okay for some reason.

It's very sad to see real people being remembered this way. As someone who grew up reading a lot of these original works, searching up their names and seeing an animal character instead of them, is heartbreaking, genuinely.

Why are you guys okay with this. I will NEVER support BSD, but I want to know why you guys are so adamant on protecting this show, even though it does terrible, disgusting things with REAL, DECEASED human beings. Please just really think about this. In my opinion, this isn't a show that should have the following it does. ​​
