What if ... Episode 7 & Ending Theory
I've read similar theories in the last hours but I wanted to give it some of my own thoughts as well.
This might sound crazy but what if Able really was real. Hear me out!
What if the "Able" Caine showed them in the end was just an NPC that looks and speaks like Able. We know Caine can create anything he can imagine, so if he saw Able with the drawn-on face shooting up everyone into the hot air balloon, he probably has enough time to setup that fake ending, create an Able NPC to show off and delete in the end and keep up his "this was all fake" facade so they don't even think about being able to escape. It would be the perfect plan to discredit Able and break their trust in an instant.
Let's be real here, Caine says he has his eyes everywhere, we see them on the paintings in front of Jaxs room, he also has that whacky watch that alerts him if someone is where they are not supposed to be, etc.
This would also be perfect for a second plot twist where, it turns out, after this Adventure, Able WAS real but with the now created trust-issues, it's going to get even harder to escape the circus.
If we believe this to be the case that would maybe confirm my Abstraction Theory. Assuming Able is real and isn't lying, Kaufmo was one of the developers (see here) that Caine made intentionally abstract so the exit won't be discovered soon. Coincidentally, the only developer not abstracted yet is Kinger who can't think coherently when exposed to light making him perfect for Caines adventures as he doesn't even think about finding an exit.
My prediction for the next two episodes is this:
- Episode 8 would probably be about them first being sad about episode 7s ending but during episode 8 they notice inconsistencies and somehow doubt that Caines fake ending was planned all along and there must be some truth to what Able said. Caine may find out about them being suspicious and try to convince them further that there is no exit, maybe making them even more suspicious.
- I'm also a firm believer that the Belief Theory is true which would mean that, in episode 8 they might finally find out whatever they think is real will be real and this will help them find an exit, together with what Able told them (maybe he's still around).
- Episode 9 would then be the finale, Caine vs. Everyone. Caine notices them planning something and might turn against them as the final straw to keeping them in the circus to fulfill his purpose and not get shut off. Kinger will definitely be important to all this, he might even be a key-figure in the end and (this is an even bigger stretch) might have to sacrifice himself somehow. Don't you love a beloved character having to sacrifice themselves for the greater good? Maybe there's a deal with Caine where Kinger stays behind playing Caines adventures so the others can leave? Maybe in the end they all decide to stay?
Or this is all false and in the end there is no exit and they are trapped there forever. Whatever the case might be, this is just my theory and I'm eager to hear your opinion on it!
