When should you use leverage in day trading in 2025?

I’ve been trading for a while and am beginning to look into using leverage. I understand the risks and don’t want to blow up my account. I’m wondering when it actually makes sense for a day trader to use leverage. I trade on Kraken, so leverage is more limited than on some platforms, but it’s still available. Is there a general guideline, a specific type of setup, or a consistency milestone you should reach before using leverage? I’d love to hear from traders who use leverage responsibly when does it help, and when do you stay away from it?
